Days 14 - 16

Day 14:  I'm thankful for my special little buddy, Preston.  I've claimed him as my Godson and nephew :)  I love that little fellow like crazy and he can put a smile on my face like no other.  He's just about 3 1/2, and let me tell you that this age is a blast!  I've always been partial to the baby stage, but he's making the toddler stage so fun!  Granted, I don't live with him and get to avoid the occasional 3 year old melt-downs, but he's always been a very pleasant and personable little guy.  It seems like over night, but he just talks and talks...and I have no idea where he gets some of his stuff.  Will and I went to dinner this week with Matt, Brandy and Preston and we were talking about being boys and girls.  The conversation went something like this:

Me:  Preston, are you a boy or a girl?
Preston:  Boy!  (and of course he says it in the cutest way...he manages to turn a one-syllable word into two syllables - lol)
Me: What is Daddy?
Preston:  Boy!
Me:  What is Uncle Will?
Preston: Boy!
Me:  What is Mommy?
Preston:  Girl!
Me:  What is Digga? (thats what he calls me)
Preston: Girl!
Me: What is Stella?
Preston:  slight pause.... A Dog!!

I was speechless...he's just too smart for me!!

Day 15:  I'm thankful for sisterhood.  Tonight my sorority (it's actually a women's fraternity, but sorority is less confusing for most people) celebrated Thanksgiving with our Alumnae chapter and the local collegiate chapter.  I'm fortunate to be a part of such an amazing organization that has helped to mold me into the person I am today.  After our feast, a group of alumnae went to see Breaking Dawn Part 2!  Yes, we were the 20-somethings at the theater with the tweens...and we are just fine with that.  Great show - can't wait to see it again :)  Its nice to have some girls that you can always rely on and these lovely ladies are just that!! \^^^/

Day 16:  I'm thankful for date night with my wonderful husband.  Yes, we eat together most nights, just the two of us, but he consciously makes an effort to have an official date night every other week or so.  We'll get dressed up, like when we were dating, and go out for dinner...and if we're up to it a movie.  Tonight's date night consisted of trying a new place (new to us, anyway).  We splurged on an app, salads, main dish and dessert!!  After we were stuffed to the gills, we headed home and are now catching up on some TV shows we recorded through the week.  After 6 years of marriage, its nice to feel appreciated and keep the spark going :)
