4th Quarter Appointment

Greetings!  I'm happy to report that I had a CF appointment on Friday and all went well.  I'm actually down a pound and 1/2 which is exciting for me...the working out is making a difference - yay!  Have no fear, I still have plenty of meat on my bones ;)  My doctor had no concerns about the slight decrease in weight.  On a side note, I like the scale at my house better...its always 3-4 pounds lighter then the hospitals.

I had PFTs done...here are my results:

FVC - 97% (previous 101%)
FEV1 - 85% (previous 85%)
FEF25-75% - 62% (previous 47%)

So - pretty good!  My smaller airways (FEF25-75%) seem to have made some improvement.  Could be because I'm currently on Cayston.  On Friday I was Week 3, Day 3 of the 4 week cycle.

We talked about my last sputum culture which turned up some confusing results.  So, they want to redo the AFB Culture as there wasn't enough "stuff" to test from last go round.  Hopefully, all is OK with that.  So, I got to spit in a cup and hav…

Remote Hog

Do you ever find yourself sitting on the couch with your significant other while they have something on TV (that they aren't actively watching), but you're not allowed to change the channel?  Well, I find myself in that position as I type.  Will has something on (Grease Monkey or Gas Monkey...something of that nature on the Discovery channel) and is fiddling on his laptop.  Then, here I am just sitting here wanting to put ANYTHING else on...but when I ask for the remote, I get told "no, I'm watching this".  *&@#!?!?!  NO, YOU ARE NOT!!

Is it a guy thing?  I find myself in this predicament more times than I wish.  Granted, we do watch several shows together...usually his choice (Ax Men, Gold Rush, etc.) and not so much my choice (Bachelorette, Grey's Anatomy).  I can't blame him for not watching the Bachelor or Bachelorette...I don't think most guys enjoy those.  So, I record my shows and catch up on them during the week while he is at work or whe…

I'm still here...

I can't believe its been a week and a half since I've been on here...I'm not quite sure what I've been up to thats distracted me so much.  Let's see...

Will and I went to Atlanta the weekend of the 1st - we had a great time with some wonderful people...we say the Cirque Du Soleil show Totem.  It was amazing...those people make it look so easy!  I put up the Christmas decorations in the house...unfortunately, I was a bit destructive this year.  I broke a few of my favorite things in the process :(  I was about to throw in the towel and say bah humbug, but I didn't...and now just looking at the Christmas tree makes me happy.I started Cayston...all is going well with that.  I did struggle to remember it a few times and got behind schedule...which drives me nuts.  So, I've gotten myself caught up now.  I had a little Cayston-induced cough around day 3 of the cycle which unfortunately kept me awake one night (and Will too), but all is better. This weekend I had 3 …
