Birthday Week & Becoming an Aunt Again!!

I'm not 100% sure why, but I love birthdays.  Not just my birthday, but all birthdays.  Ok, especially mine :)  It's cool having a day all about you!  I like to draw it out for the whole week...why not?

This year I turned the big 3-2!  From the lack of blogging, I'm sure you can tell I have been busy.  I started my birthday week at the Isle of Palms celebrating my future sister-in-law!  What a great girls weekend :)  And it ended with a few days at our place in WV, then a stop in Morgantown and a Taylor Swift concert in Pittsburgh! It was fabulous!!  My brother-in-law and sister-in-law(in waiting) made me feel so special!  I had a big breakfast on my birthday with fresh squeezed OJ, pancakes & bacon - yum!!!

What a great show!! I want to go back!!

I kept thinking my niece was going to make her debut on my birthday, but she held out.  So, I took a road trip to Indiana to wait on her arrival.  The beautiful Allison Reese was born on June 16th at 1:04pm.  And I'm absolutely in love with her!  I had the pleasure of getting to watch my nephew while mom, dad and baby were at the hospital.  What a joy this kid is.  He melts my heart.

Here are some pics of my adventure:

Meeting Allison
Just hanging out
Adam enjoying his yogurt
Precious newborn feet
What is better than this?!?
Snuggles
Adam celebrated his 2nd birthday too!

I made it back home on Thursday and am enjoying a little down time before celebrating the 4th of July!

CF Round Up

I had my quarterly CF appointment last week, on the 2nd.  I knew that morning that my PFTs would suck.  And they did.  I'll cut straight to it.  I'm honestly surprised they weren't worse than this.  I did them 4 times and each time felt like I was going to pop a blood vessel :/

                                  6/2/15              3/11/15         6/27/14
FVC                            89%                 99%                 99%
FEV1                           81%                85%                 83%
FEF25-75%                 61%                54%                 45%

So, what are we doing to get this back in shape?  I'm on Levaquin 750mg for 14 days, and 'supposed' to be vesting at least twice a day.  I've definitely stepped up my game, but can't say I'm religiously vesting twice a day!  Plus to top it off, my Pari nebulizer crashed on Monday (the day I started my Cayston cycle).  So, the odds are not in my favor right now.

Good news - a new nebulizer machine arrived today and it works!!  So, I vested this morning and am planning to again this afternoon.  I would normally do it at 4pm when Ellen is on, but the air conditioner decided to go haywire and leak (damaging our kitchen ceiling), so the A/C guy is here.  I figured I would wait til he left and fixed the problem so he didn't see me all hooked up - lol.

I was supposed to start a new CF study this week, but due to my lower PFTs and antibiotic, we've postponed for a few weeks.  But, I'm glad I still get to participate!

I feel good, my cough has decreased but my voice still sounds kind of scratchy (mostly just in the mornings).  I haven't been to the gym in a while, due to my crazy schedule, so exercising isn't happening.  And frankly, I don't feel like it.  I've enjoyed my few lazy mornings this week.  But, I know I have to get back to it...not just for my lungs, but so I can fit in my clothes!!

Other than that, I suppose thats all that's happening on the CF front :)

CF Appointment 3.14.19

And just like that, another 3 months has passed by.  I headed to my CF appointment on Wednesday, March 13th. I saw lots of my favorite peo...
