Snow Storm & Ice Storm & Earthquakes - Oh My!!

I almost rather have lions & tigers & bears then the craziness we have had.  I won't dwell on the weather, but we've had some interesting stuff the past weeks from snow and ice to earthquakes.  We lost power for 3 days due to the ice and that was no fun.  In the midst of the darkness on Valentine's night, our house was shaking!!  What a crazy event to be a part of.  Being my first earthquake, I thought the world was ending....lol.

On the 15th, Will and I attended the Bully Ball in Atlanta.  It was a fundraiser for the Georgia English Bulldog Rescue, which of course we were beyond excited about!  We got to get dressed up and hang out with bulldogs :)  It was a great event and we can't wait to go back again!

Last week was mostly uneventful, which is good if you ask me.  But Saturday was busy!  Will and I ran in a 5K!! My second for the year, but the first one for Will and I together.  I'm so proud of him going out there and running with me!  He did great!  Ac…

Cayston, Vesting and a Research Study

I finished Cayston on Friday - yay!! Now I get to enjoy a 4 week break.  But, I will still keep up with the HTS and vest.

As for the vest, its official that everyone in the house despises the thing.  For some reason, the dogs now run out of the room when they see me start to put it on.  If Will is home, they run to his office and hide under his desk.  If not, they run back to our bedroom and hide on their bed back there.  Its very strange, they used to sit with me and that all of a sudden changed in the past two weeks.

I vest right in the living room.  I know if I put it somewhere out of plain sight, I would not do it as much.  Plus, its right by the TV, so I can watch a show (at top volume, of course) or play on my iPad.  I think the family should get to be a part of my treatments ;)  Although, Will does not enjoy how loud it is and anxiously waits for it to turn off.

The itching has gotten MUCH better.  I still turn the vest backwards and that really seems to make all the diffe…

Gym Frenemy

I read an article in a magazine (can't remember which one) the other day about having a 'frenemy' at the gym.  I chuckled to myself as I read the various reader remarks about their frenemies.  After today's kickboxing class, I thought I'd share a bit about my gym frenemies :)

I tend to stay in the same spot when I take classes, so in my mind, it is MY spot.  Now, when I am new to a class, I tend to fill in a gap as to not take anyone else's spot, because I know how annoying that can be ;)  Anyway, I have been taking a kickboxing class for just a few weeks now, so I'm not particularly partial to a spot yet, but I have a region of the room I stick too.  I showed up a few minutes before class and filled in the big open spot.  Then, once class started, a late comer joined in and got right up on me.  I scooted as much as I could, careful not to encroach on someone else's spot.  But, she keep coming!!  So, I made the decision to just stand my ground at that p…

Prep Time

It's that time of year again - Great Strides time!!!  I'll be participating in the Augusta, GA walk again this year which will take place on May 3rd.  So, I have just under 3 months to prepare.
Great Strides has revamped their website this year, which is great.  I'm still working on getting my team page set up and will share it as soon as its ready to go :)  I did manage to start a Facebook page for CF Stinks though.  I have been wanting to make one for a while now but just haven't taken the time to do it.  So, now its up and you can keep up with me there as well.

I'm looking forward to fundraising again this year.  So, my dear family, friends, and readers - I would love any support you can give to CF Stinks.  I will be sharing ways you can help me with fundraising efforts soon.  I believe we can raise $10,000 again this year!!!!

I'm excited that we will be having our Shop for CF event again this year.  I believe this will be year 4 or 5 (sadly, I can't re…

Playing Catch Up

Well, January was a whirlwind!  It was a busy but wonderful start to 2014.  I managed to do my vest faithfully!!  I did have a few exceptions when I traveled.

Will and I went to Atlanta with some other couples and did a Pub Crawl.  It was a blast.  We hit some of the hotspots  - Best of Atlanta, Best of the US and even a Best of the World!!

I missed one day of vesting for this trip, but the fun was well worth it :)

Then, I spent 5 days up in Indiana visiting my brother, sister-in-law and nephew!!  I flew so I was definitely not taking the vest with me.  But, I did manage to get my workouts in while I was up there, so go me!!

I got back on Saturday, after a loooong day traveling...flight delays suck!  Thankfully, my wonderful hubby tracked all over SC and GA to get me and my luggage :)
